Coimbra, 14, 15 and 16th October

1st Conference Euro-American for the Development of Human Rights

Globalization is an indisputable reality today, one that functions at a new level of expertise in all contexts and in all areas of knowledge, but above all in the support of the set of fundamental rights established in contemporary societies.

From climate change, to armed conflict, the redefinition of criminal policies, social exclusion and the rethinking of the structural basis of labour relations, modern societies seek to redefine the present model every day, in pursuit of greater sustainability and security in their development.

As a tool for developing economies and as a motto for improving the quality of life of peoples, regional cooperation – European-American cooperation – can also be a tough parallel process of identity densification applied to the rule of law through public policies.

These concerns cut across societies and the various spheres of knowledge; this paradigm converges with multidisciplinary and intersectoral academic reflection on the development of human rights so necessary in the 21st century.
